May 2, 2009...The day dawned cloudy and windy...but no rain. Our "Glass-Men" arrived early at Palomar Station ready to go...no matter what…

We drove out to the tower and found the 500 feet of elevation gained put us squarely in the Clouds and a driving wind…The Glass-Men said, "Lets Roll" and we did!

An FFLA volunteer crew of 4 removed the shutters and tried to stay out of the way...and the wind!

A lucky 13 panes of tempered, tinted glass were installed by a crew of 8 in less than 4 hours!

The glass was hauled up by hand...we're talking 1/4 inch panes 35x47 inches...heavy!

Great work by the all volunteer crew from Santee's Tower Glass. They put the Tower in Tower Glass on Saturday!

May 3, 2009--in slightly warmer and slightly less windy conditions a FFLA crew of 3 hauled plywood subflooring up the Tower to install in preparation for VCT tile flooring. We painted the cab door and installed a brand new 23 year old Schlage heavy duty door knob set.

What next?? Tile then insulation and wall paneling.

The dream is becoming reality!
